Historique

History
The history of the castle is known from 1329 onwards. It is a small building forming an enclosure capable of resisting pillagers and mercenaries. Of compact circular plan, each corner is flanked by a tower, turret or buttress. Surrounded by a double water-filled moat, access is by a drawbridge whose mechanism is still in place. In the 18th century, the building is transformed into a pleasure castle, with an opening to the south, piercing of the façades, creation of a terrace overhanging the moat. The interior was transformed in the 19th century and the defensive arrangements disappeared, except for the gun ports of the north tower. Ancillary buildings remain, such as the farmhouse and a cottage.
