Considéré comme le plus vieux moulin à vent du nord de la France puisque son existence est attestée en 1547, (la date portée, anno 1127, est apocryphe) , ce moulin à farine, de type pivot, comporte une haute cabine en bois, et est maintenu par des jambes de force que masque une tourelle en dur à toit conique. Les parties extérieures, en particulier le parement de tavaillons et d'essentage de planches protégeant la tour pivot et la cabine, celle-ci flanquée de ses renflements en appentis, ont été fidèlement restaurées, de même que l'échelle se combinant avec la poutre directionnelle. La machinerie, semée d'inscriptions et de dates allant du 16e au 19e siècles, fait de ce moulin est un des plus intéressants de la technique meunière appliquée à l'énergie éolienne. Il a arrêté de fonctionner en 1963 ; ses grandes ailes à traverses ont été restaurées en 1988 et sont régulièrement entoilées pour les démonstrations.

History
Considered the oldest windmill in the north of France since its existence is attested in 1547, (the date inscribed, anno 1127, is apocryphal), this flour mill, of pivot type, has a high wooden cabin, and is maintained by struts that are masked by a hard tower with conical roof. The outer parts, in particular the covering of shingles and planking protecting the pivot tower and cabin, the latter flanked by its swellings in lean-to, have been faithfully restored, as well as the ladder combined with the directional beam. The machinery, scattered with inscriptions and dates from the 16th to 19th centuries, makes this mill one of the most interesting examples of milling technique applied to wind energy. It stopped operating in 1963; its large sails with cross-members were restored in 1988 and are regularly canvassed for demonstrations.
