Cette tour est le monument le plus ancien de la ville. Elle a été édifiée par Jacques Desfontaines, entourée au 18e siècle d'une plate-forme de surveillance du port, puis rehaussée en 1814 pour y installer une lanterne de phare. Elle a conservé une grande partie de ses dispositifs techniques du 19e siècle.

History
This tower is the oldest monument in the city. It was built by Jacques Desfontaines, surrounded in the 18th century by a surveillance platform of the port, then raised in 1814 to install a lighthouse lantern. It has retained a large part of its technical devices from the 19th century.
