History
The first lord of Sars, qualified as Lord of Audignies, is attributed with the construction at the end of the 14th century of the large square tower situated at a corner and designated as keep. When Guillaume du Mont became owner in the first quarter of the 17th century, he transformed the fortress into a place of pleasure. It is to the Van Damme family that the 18th-century interior decoration is owed.
