La chapelle se trouve sur l'emplacement où la tradition situe le tombeau de Sainte-Libaire. Le lieu, bordé par l'ancienne voie romaine de Grand à Soulosse, était occupé par un important édifice public auquel succède une nécropole dès le Haut Moyen-Age. La chapelle actuelle a été élevée dans la première moitié du 15e siècle, en deux campagnes successives. La première a concerné l'abside à cinq pans ; la seconde, la nef unique de trois travées. D'importants restes de peintures murales subsistent, notamment dans le choeur.

History
The chapel is situated on the location where tradition places the tomb of Saint-Libaire. The place, bordered by the old Roman road from Grand to Soulosse, was occupied by an important public building which is succeeded by a necropolis from the Early Middle Ages onwards. The present chapel was erected in the first half of the 15th century, in two successive campaigns. The first concerned the five-sided chevet; the second, the single nave of three bays. Important remains of wall paintings survive, notably in the choir.
