Historique
Ruines de Saint-Pierre, dues à l'éruption de la Montagne Pelée le 8 mai 1902. Il existait trois cimetières à Saint-Pierre : celui du Mouillage, le cimetière militaire et celui du Fort. Le cimetière du Fort est le plus ancien, il doit sa fondation à Belin d'Esnanbuc. Créé en 1635, il porte la marque des Jésuites installés en 1640 et comporte les tombes des premiers gouverneurs de l'île. Il s'étendra vers le nord en 1841.

History
Ruins of Saint-Pierre, due to the eruption of Montagne Pelée on 8 May 1902. There were three cemeteries in Saint-Pierre: that of the Anchorage, the military cemetery and that of the Fort. The Fort cemetery is the oldest; it owes its foundation to Belin d'Esnanbuc. Created in 1635, it bears the mark of the Jesuits established in 1640 and comprises the tombs of the island's first governors. It will extend towards the north in 1841.
