Historique
Château reconstruit à partir de 1439 (donjon de 1439, chapelle de 1444) par Bertrand de Beauveau, conseiller du roi René d'Anjou. Demeure agrandie aux 17e (aile occidentale et pigeonnier-porche) et 18e siècles. Au début du 19e siècle, le château devient la propriété des d'Aviau de Ternay. Importants travaux de restauration entre 1861 et 1884 sous la conduite de l'architecte Ojam (écuries construites de 1861 à 1867, puis aménagement des salons et reprise des maçonneries, destruction du pigeonnier, des communs, comblement des fossés...). Tour ronde à mâchicoulis, donjon pentagonal. Plan du château en quadrilatère irrégulier. Chapelle ornée d'un décor sculpté de grande qualité.

History
Castle rebuilt from 1439 onwards (keep of 1439, chapel of 1444) by Bertrand de Beauveau, counsellor to King René d'Anjou. Residence enlarged in the 17th (west wing and dovecote-porch) and 18th centuries. At the beginning of the 19th century, the castle became the property of d'Aviau de Ternay. Important restoration work between 1861 and 1884 under the direction of the architect Ojam (stables built from 1861 to 1867, then arrangement of the reception rooms and repair of masonry, destruction of the dovecote, outbuildings, filling of moats...). Round tower with machicolations, pentagonal keep. Plan of the castle in irregular quadrilateral. Chapel adorned with high-quality sculptural decoration.
