Historique
Construite au début du 19e siècle par un maire de Loudun pour servir de rendez-vous de chasse, la Guérinière comprend tout un décor autour de ce thème. Edifiée d'un seul jet, la propriété consiste en un corps de logis avec chaînages et tables en pierres sous les fenêtres. Le pavillon central est marqué d'un ressaut. Deux pavillons latéraux, plus bas de toiture, complètent l'édifice inclu dans une perspective d'allées cavalières. Deux corps de bâtiments de communs sont placés au sud du logis. History
Built in the early 19th century by a mayor of Loudun to serve as a hunting lodge, the Guérinière comprises an entire decorative scheme around this theme. Erected in a single campaign, the property consists of a main dwelling with stone chains and tables beneath the windows. The central pavilion is marked by a projection. Two lower lateral pavilions with lower roofs complete the building set within a perspective of bridlepaths. Two ranges of outbuildings are placed to the south of the main dwelling. The ground floor presents Restoration decoration comprising, in particular, a series of wallpapers. The painted decoration of the entrance hall imitates marble with pilasters. The dining room is covered with a panoramic paper depicting "The Hunt at Compiègne", painted by Carle Vernet.
