Historique

History
The present château, which comprised two wings, was built around 1710 on the site of a building of the 14th century in which the lords of Curzay resided until the end of the 15th century. In the 18th century, the château and its dependencies were rearranged. At the beginning of the 19th century, the estate was the subject of numerous transformations, in particular the English park, laid out by Bülher. The dependencies were furnished with a model farm, greenhouse, orangery, stables. The ensemble took on its present appearance which comprises the 18th-century château minus the north wing (demolished around 1865); the south wing of the outbuildings of the same period as the château; the chapel modified in the 19th century in the neo-Gothic style; the dependencies behind the outbuildings, comprising buildings of different periods (14th, 16th, 18th centuries) restored in the 19th, a barn with its two medieval towers and a kitchen garden.
