Historique

History
Building constructed between 1693 and 1701. Addition or modification of the lateral wings between 1774 and 1780. At the same period, excavation of basins around the gardens and of a vast ice-house (demolished in the 19th century). The décor of the great salon may be dated to this period. Representative of country dwellings built around large cities under the Ancien régime, the construction of chartreuse type is a long building with double offset of the lateral pavilions. Regular coursing of walls in yellow brick and stone. The play of round dormers and the curve of the roof slope accentuate its horizontality, as do the lateral wings forming, on the south-east side, a closed courtyard at the extremity of which stands a body of water flanked by two square pavilions, the one to the east being intended as the chapel. On the north side, the building is bordered, along its entire length, by a wide terrace and bowling greens. Access to the main dwelling is by small flights of stone stairs attached to the pavilions. The salons of the main dwelling retain wainscoting. The trumeau panels of the doors symbolise the four seasons. The other rooms receive plasterwork decoration. To the east, presence of a dovecote.
