History
The priory, first mentioned in the 12th century, is a dependency of the Benedictine abbey of Nouaillé. At the Revolution, it is sold to a farmer. The priory is often resold during the 19th and 20th centuries. The estate comprises, to the east, outbuildings of U-shaped plan and to the south-east an imposing dovecote. Surrounded by a moat crossed by a stone bridge, the priory consists of a main dwelling flanked by a square tower. A corbelled turret attached to the tower and topped with a dome disappeared at the beginning of the 20th century.
