L'abbaye aux Dames est fondée en 1047. Après deux incendies successifs au 17e siècle, les bâtiments conventuels sont entièrement reconstruits. Après la Révolution les bâtiments sont transformés en prison, puis en caserne. En 1924, l'église est rachetée par la commune, restaurée et rendue au culte en 1939. Les bâtiments abbatiaux sont restaurés dans les années 1970-1980 ; ils abritent actuellement une école de musique.

History
The Abbey aux Dames was founded in 1047. After two successive fires in the 17th century, the conventional buildings were entirely rebuilt. After the Revolution the buildings were converted into a prison, then into a barracks. In 1924, the church was repurchased by the commune, restored and returned to worship in 1939. The abbey buildings were restored in the 1970s-1980s; they currently house a school of music.
