Historique
L'église fut donnée par le vicomte d'Aunay, avec ses dépendances et appartenances, à l'abbaye de Notre-Dame de Saintes. De l'église primitive du 12e siècle, il ne subsiste qu'une partie du mur sud avec ses trois fenêtres et les colonnes de l'intérieur. Ruinée, sans doute au cours des guerres, elle fut réédifiée aux 14e-15e siècles et 19e siècle. Elle se compose de quatre travées limitées par des colonnes engagées. La travée qui précède le choeur devait porter le clocher. La façade est percée d'une porte en ayant remplacé une plus ancienne et plus large, dont les traces de bases sont conservées. Le pignon se termine par une arcade moderne portant une cloche. Le mur nord a été percé de fenêtres au 14e ou 15e siècle.

History
The church was given by the viscount of Aunay, with its dependencies and appurtenances, to the abbey of Notre-Dame de Saintes. Of the primitive church of the 12th century, only part of the south wall with its three windows and the interior columns remain. Ruined, doubtless during the wars, it was rebuilt in the 14th-15th centuries and 19th century. It consists of four bays bounded by engaged columns. The bay preceding the choir was to bear the bell tower. The façade is pierced by a door which has replaced an older and wider one, the traces of whose bases are preserved. The gable is terminated by a modern arcade bearing a bell. The north wall was pierced with windows in the 14th or 15th century.
