En 1855, les soeurs de l'Espérance fondent une maison dans une partie de l'ancien couvent des Augustins, pour installer un foyer de la jeune fille. La construction d'une chapelle est projetée. Les soeurs font appel à l'architecte local Vetelet qui choisit un parti architectural néo-gothique. Alexandre Vetelet est également le sculpteur du retable et le peintre du chemin de croix. La chapelle est consacrée en 1862.

History
In 1855, the Sisters of Hope founded a house in part of the former convent of the Augustinians, to establish a home for young women. The construction of a chapel was planned. The sisters called upon the local architect Vetelet who chose a Neo-Gothic architectural style. Alexandre Vetelet was also the sculptor of the retable and the painter of the Stations of the Cross. The chapel was consecrated in 1862.
