Historique
Place-forte mentionnée dès le 11e siècle. Le château est pris au cours de la guerre de Cent ans. Il devient forteresse protestante pendant les guerres de Religion et reçoit plusieurs visites d'Henri de Navarre. L'édifice est précédé d'une basse-cour et d'un pont-levis. Le corps de logis principal était flanqué d'une tour remontant sans doute au 13e siècle, remaniée fin 15e-début 16e siècle. Incendiée en 1793, elle s'effondre en partie. Un petit couloir construit dans la muraille donne accès à une salle aveugle voûtée en coupole. Les étages avaient des salles carrées qui conservent des cheminées monumentales. History
Stronghold mentioned from the 11th century. The château was taken during the Hundred Years' War. It becomes a Protestant fortress during the Wars of Religion and receives several visits from Henri of Navarre. The building is preceded by a low court and a drawbridge. The main dwelling body was flanked by a tower dating no doubt from the 13th century, altered late 15th-early 16th century. Set on fire in 1793, it partially collapses. A small corridor built in the wall gives access to a blind room vaulted in a dome. The storeys had square rooms which preserve monumental fireplaces. Former dependencies outside the enclosure.
