Au 17e siècloe, des Hollandais vinrent assécher les marais autour de La Rochelle. La partie du Boineau, de style flamand, fut édifiée à cette époque. Le reste de la maison fut bâti au cours de la seconde moitié du 18e siècle. Un portail de cette dernière époque donne accès à la cour d'honneur, au fond de laquelle se situe la demeure. La partie la plus ancienne est constituée par le bâtiment de style flamand avec deux pignons se terminant par des redents. Des tuiles vernissées couvrent cet édifice. Les percements sont classiques. Les ouvertures sont surmontées d'un linteau en léger cintre. A l'intérieur, un escalier monumental est orné d'une rampe en fer forgé.

History
In the 17th century, Dutch people came to drain the marshes around La Rochelle. The Boineau section, of Flemish style, was built at that time. The rest of the house was built during the second half of the 18th century. A portal of this latter period gives access to the court of honour, at the far end of which stands the dwelling. The oldest part consists of the Flemish-style building with two gables ending in step-backs. Glazed tiles cover this building. The openings are classical. The windows are surmounted by a slightly-curved lintel. Inside, a monumental staircase is decorated with a wrought-iron ramp.
