History
Dating from 1837, this tower-type windmill, in ashlar stone and cement, with timber shingle roof, ceased operation in 1914. A second mill existed in its vicinity. Until the storm of 1958 which completely exposed it, it had its weathervane, its mismatched traverse-type sails and its mechanisms. Restored, it bears witness to the existence of the numerous windmills that operated until the 1940s in Charente-Maritime. The mechanism has completely disappeared.
