Historique
Ancien prieuré de l'abbaye de Saint-Amant-de-Boixe, l'église a été construite aux 11e et 12e siècles mais fut remaniée à diverses époques, et ce dès le 13e siècle. Elle fut sans doute également fortifiée pendant la guerre de Cent ans et transformée à nouveau à une époque plus récente (construction du mur séparant la nef du choeur). En 1876, reconstruction en briques de la voûte de la nef qui s'était écroulée. L'édifice à nef unique se termine, à l'est, par une abside semi-circulaire et, à l'ouest, par un clocher-porche carré placé en avant de l'église primitive. La nef est sans doute la partie la plus ancienne de l'édifice. Le choeur a été orné, à posteriori, de neuf grandes arcades aveugles, séparées par des colonnes engagées ornées de chapiteaux à crochets et feuillage. Le clocher-porche abrite, au rez-de-chaussée, l'ancien portail composé de trois voussures, ornée chacune d'un boudin qui retombe sur une colonne à chapiteau sculpté.

History
Former priory of the abbey of Saint-Amant-de-Boixe, the church was built in the 11th and 12th centuries but was altered at various periods, and from the 13th century onwards. It was probably also fortified during the Hundred Years War and transformed again at a more recent period (construction of the wall separating the nave from the choir). In 1876, reconstruction in brick of the vault of the nave which had collapsed. The building with single nave ends, to the east, with a semicircular apse and, to the west, with a square porch tower placed in front of the primitive church. The nave is probably the oldest part of the building. The choir was decorated, after the fact, with nine large blind arcades, separated by engaged columns ornamented with capitals with crockets and foliage. The porch tower houses, at ground level, the old portal composed of three voussures, each ornamented with a moulding which springs from a column with sculptured capital.
