Historique
Abbaye de l'ordre de saint Augustin, fondée en 1077. L'église date de la fin du 12e siècle. Nef à trois coupoles sur pendentifs. Le transept a perdu son croisillon nord. Celui du sud, sous berceau, possède une absidiole à l'est, semi-circulaire et voûtée en cul de four. La coupole du transept est semblable à celle de la nef. Un choeur à chevet plat a remplacé, au 14e siècle, l'abside ruinée. Il est éclairé par une baie en tiers-point. La façade est renforcée, à ses extrémités, par de hautes colonnes aux chapiteaux sculptés. Au rez-de-chaussée, la porte à quatre voussures est accostée de deux petites arcades aveugles. Les colonnes de la porte et des arcades ont des chapiteaux et tailloirs décorés de rinceaux sculptés. Un premier étage est ajouré au centre d'un arc plein cintre renfermant une fenêtre et encadré de deux autres arcades aveugles. Au deuxième étage s'étend une arcature aveugle de neuf ouvertures égales portées par des colonnettes. Le clocher sur le carré a été rasé.

History
Abbey of the Order of Saint Augustine, founded in 1077. The church dates from the end of the 12th century. Nave with three domes on pendentives. The transept lost its northern arm. That of the south, under a barrel vault, has an absidiole to the east, semi-circular and vaulted in apse. The dome of the transept is similar to that of the nave. A choir with a flat chevet replaced, in the 14th century, the ruined apse. It is lit by a pointed arch opening. The façade is reinforced, at its extremities, by tall columns with sculpted capitals. On the ground floor, the door with four voussoirs is flanked by two small blind arcades. The columns of the door and arcades have capitals and abacuses decorated with sculpted foliage. A first floor is opened at the centre with a round arch containing a window and framed by two other blind arcades. On the second floor extends a blind arcading of nine equal openings carried by small columns. The bell tower over the square was razed.
