Historique

History
The church, built no doubt in the 12th century, underwent some modifications during the Hundred Years' War. The lateral walls were raised to build a wall-walk. Another later modification, the upper part of the bell tower was completely rebuilt. The plan has no transept and terminates in a rounded chevet without absidiole. Like a series of Limousin churches, the façade comprises a projecting avant-corps, terminated in mitre. Large tores ornament the two voussures of the portal which rest on sculpted capitals (confronted lions; chimeras; Samson and the lion...). Above, in a large archway, a Christ in majesty is represented in a mandorla, surrounded by two thuriferous angels. At his feet unrolls a frieze of saints, interrupted by three small openings. Inside, the entrance is dominated by a tribune created in the 19th century. The nave is vaulted in broken barrel vault. Of octagonal aspect, the dome under bell tower rests, to the north, on squinches and, to the south, on pendentives. The choir is reduced to the apse.
