Historique
Sur la base d'une lanterne des morts du 12e siècle, aujourd'hui détruite, fut construite en 1654 une croix hosannière. Cette croix porte, à sa base, un rebord où l'on déposait l'ostensoir des jours de procession. La croix se compose d'un large socle circulaire de cinq marches au-dessus duquel s'élève la croix. Sur ce socle, où devait se trouver antérieurement la lanterne, est construit un petit bloc de maçonnerie portant deux pierres qui devaient supporter au 13e siècle le fût creux du lanternon. Elles forment à leur partie supérieure un cercle à l'endroit où se trouvait l'ouverture de la colonne creuse par où le fanal était introduit. Dans les quatre angles de ces deux pierres qui forment le haut du carré de maçonnerie, se distinguent encore quatre griffes romanes qui retiennent les angles du carré au cercle supérieur qui supportait autrefois la colonne disparue. C'est sur ces deux pierres que fut élevée, en 1654, la croix actuelle.

History
On the base of a lantern of the dead from the 12th century, today destroyed, was built in 1654 a Hosanna cross. This cross bears, at its base, a ledge where the monstrance was placed on days of procession. The cross consists of a large circular base of five steps above which rises the cross. On this base, where the lantern should previously have been, is built a small masonry block bearing two stones which should support in the 13th century the hollow shaft of the small lantern. They form at their upper part a circle at the point where the opening of the hollow column was located through which the lantern was introduced. In the four corners of these two stones which form the top of the masonry square, four Romanesque griffins can still be distinguished which hold the corners of the square to the upper circle which previously supported the disappeared column. It was on these two stones that the present cross was raised in 1654.
