Historique
Edifice construit entre 1928 et 1932 par Léon Baille, architecte de la ville de Perpignan, pour Jean de Léon, gérant du buffet de la gare de Cerbère. L'hôtel était destiné à une importante clientèle obligée de descendre à Cerbère pour le changement de trains entre la France et l'Espagne. Construit sur une parcelle triangulaire, l'édifice de quatre niveaux est entièrement réalisé en béton armé, dans le style "Paquebot". La "poupe" du bâtiment, les coursières aux extrémités arrondies et la sortie d'un escalier sur le toit-terrasse, imitant une cheminée de navire, sont autant de références à l'architecture navale, inspiration qui marque également l'intérieur de l'édifice. History
Building constructed between 1928 and 1932 by Léon Baille, architect of the city of Perpignan, for Jean de Léon, manager of the buffet of Cerbère station. The hotel was intended for an important clientele obliged to stop at Cerbère for the change of trains between France and Spain. Built on a triangular parcel, the four-storey building is entirely constructed in reinforced concrete, in the "Liner" style. The "stern" of the building, the walkways with rounded extremities and the exit of a staircase onto the roof terrace, imitating a ship's funnel, are so many references to naval architecture, an inspiration which also marks the interior of the building. The hotel comprises a cinema, a restaurant and a tennis court on the roof terrace. It has been disused since 1983.
