Historique
La croix repose sur une base de granit soutenue par trois marches, située à l'extrémité du pont sur l'un des bras du Bès, et est la plus ancienne du département. Une face porte le Christ crucifié, et l'autre la Vierge. Au niveau des reins du Christ, les quatre angles du fût sont occupés par quatre personnages considérés comme les quatre évangélistes. Au-dessous, et sur les faces latérales, sont représentés de petits personnages serrés et accroupis. La face principale est ornée d'un profil dans lequel certains voient saint Jacques. Au-dessus de cette tête, le fût se poursuit par un compartiment évidé et allongé, surmonté d'une arcature plein cintre. D'après certains auteurs, Saint-Juéry se trouvait sur le chemin de Compostelle et cet ouvrage pouvait être une croix de saint Jacques.

History
The cross rests on a granite base supported by three steps, situated at the extremity of the bridge on one of the arms of the Bès, and is the oldest in the department. One face bears the crucified Christ, and the other the Virgin. At the level of the loins of Christ, the four angles of the shaft are occupied by four figures considered as the four evangelists. Below, and on the lateral faces, are represented small figures tightly huddled and crouching. The main face is decorated with a profile in which some see Saint James. Above this head, the shaft continues with a hollowed-out and elongated compartment, surmounted by a round arch arcade. According to certain authors, Saint-Juéry was situated on the road to Compostela and this work could be a cross of Saint James.
