Historique
Le linteau de la porte présente, de part et d'autre d'un coeur, la date de construction (1503) et les initiales des propriétaires. Sur chacun des jambages est sculptée une tête masculine d'un côté et féminine de l'autre. Au-dessus du masque féminin est placée une tête d'animal (chien ou loup). Le linteau est surmonté d'un fronton interrompu renfermant les armes de la famille propriétaire. Une croix sur un socle en forme de pignon évidé au centre, décoré de motifs animaliers et placé entre deux vases de pierre, domine le fronton. D'après la tradition, cette porte proviendrait d'une demeure seigneuriale voisine et aurait été transportée à la Chaze au 18e siècle. Une autre tradition veut qu'il y ait eu à l'emplacement de la ferme actuelle, un rendez-vous de chasse dont la porte serait un témoin.

History
The door lintel presents, on either side of a heart, the construction date (1503) and the initials of the owners. On each of the jambs is carved a male head on one side and female on the other. Above the female mask is placed an animal head (dog or wolf). The lintel is surmounted by an interrupted pediment containing the arms of the owning family. A cross on a base shaped like a hollowed gable at the centre, decorated with animal motifs and placed between two stone vases, dominates the pediment. According to tradition, this door would come from a neighbouring seigneurial residence and would have been transported to la Chaze in the 18th century. Another tradition claims there was a hunting lodge at the site of the current farm, of which this door would be a remnant.
