Historique

History
The château is mentioned for the first time in 1504. The edifice, of quadrangular plan, is flanked by three rectangular towers (only the north-east angle does not possess one). The façades are pierced with mullioned windows not carved. The main façade, west, opens through a highly worked door. The jambs consist of two pilasters resting on two bases carved with two wolves (?) in chains. In the spandrels, two masks stand out against trophies of music. On the frieze is read the inscription "Con obras et orages super stellas et solem fidas statio sic". At the centre, two eagles are confronted on either side of a lion's head. Above, the tabernacle is charged with arms. On either side, two flower vases surmount small pediments with scroll ornaments. The south wing was altered in the 18th century. The east wing is constituted, in part, by the keep of the primitive château. Its crenellations were remade in the early 20th century, but the consoles supporting them appear to be original. The quadrilateral formed by the château delimits an interior Renaissance courtyard with arcades, adorned with a well. The interior of the château has preserved part of its decoration from the 16th and 17th centuries.
