Saint-Jacques était l'annexe de la paroisse Saint-Saturnin de Campignan ou de l'Aumède. Le vocable n'est cité dans aucun document antérieur à 1600. History
Saint-Jacques was the annex of the parish of Saint-Saturnin de Campignan or de l'Aumède. The dedication is not cited in any document prior to 1600. The Romanesque church was built at about the same time as the fortifications of the village. A gorge separates the roll from the next one, which is decorated with wide palmettes. After another gorge is found the outer roll, decorated with a course of foliage, palmettes alternately arranged point up and down, the stems connected to each other according to regular undulations. The whole is sheltered under a kind of gable or triangular pediment. Inside, the sanctuary is vaulted with a combination of barrel vault and half-dome. The only Romanesque sculptures inside the church are found on the capitals of the triumphal arch.
