History

Hôtel particulier and workshop built at the end of the 19th century by the decorator, sculptor and ornamentalist entrepreneur Edouard Lefèvre. The latter settled in Montpellier around 1877, the date when he purchased land near the station. The development of the railway was of great importance to him, particularly for the dispatch of the product of his workshops. The hôtel-workshop is situated on the other side of the railway lines. The entire structure of the gallery is covered with lattice work with decorated elements. Inside, the dining room has a ceiling in two compartments with composition in reliefs of plaster or staffs painted and gilded. The walls are also decorated with reliefs with gilded elements. Other rooms retain decorated ceilings and varied decoration (sculpture, stained glass, wainscoting, marouflaged or painted canvases, paintings...).
