Historique
Demeure du 18e siècle qui compte parmi les plus intéressantes "folies" des environs de Montpellier. Le château fut construit en 1770 pour J.J. François Gaspard Richer de Belleval, président de la cour des comptes, aides et finances. L'édifice est situé au fond d'une vaste cour d'honneur, séparée de l'avant-cour par une grille en fer forgé. La façade nord du château s'ouvre sur la cour d'honneur. Elle compte un corps central avec fronton sculpté, ainsi que deux pilastres à décor d'arabesques et motif de chasse. La façade sud comporte également un corps central, avec fronton dont les sculptures furent partiellement mutilées à la Révolution. Les pièces du rez-de-chaussée ont conservé certains décors du 18e.

History
Dwelling of the 18th century which ranks among the most interesting "folies" in the vicinity of Montpellier. The castle was built in 1770 for J.J. François Gaspard Richer de Belleval, president of the court of accounts, aids and finances. The building is situated at the far end of a vast courtyard of honour, separated from the forecourt by wrought iron railings. The north façade of the castle opens onto the courtyard of honour. It comprises a central body with sculpted pediment, as well as two pilasters decorated with arabesques and hunting motif. The south façade likewise comprises a central body, with pediment whose sculptures were partially mutilated at the Revolution. The ground-floor rooms have retained certain decorations from the 18th century.
