La chapelle est située près d'un établissement romain qui était sans doute en relation avec une source miraculeuse vénérée par les pélerins. Cette église était autrefois paroissiale et était pourvue d'un cimetière. Elle dépendait, avec le domaine de la Bastide, de l'abbaye de Villemagne. L'édifice présente un plan rectangulaire à nef unique, charpentée. Le choeur quadrangulaire est voûté d'un berceau. La construction en petit appareil régulier révèle certaines caractéristiques préromanes (petit linteau échancré monolithe...). La nef a sans doute été refaite au 19e siècle. History
The chapel is situated near a Roman establishment which was no doubt connected with a miraculous spring venerated by pilgrims. This church was formerly parochial and was provided with a cemetery. It was dependent, with the domain of la Bastide, on the abbey of Villemagne. The building presents a rectangular plan with a single roof-framed nave. The quadrangular choir is vaulted with a barrel vault. The construction in small regular ashlar reveals certain pre-Romanesque characteristics (small single-piece monolithic lintel with notches...). The nave was probably redone in the 19th century. Only the sanctuary is ancient and may date to a pre-Romanesque period, although the first mention of the chapel dates only to 1182.
