Historique
Château-fort conservant une salle voûtée d'ogives percée de portes en tiers-point et d'archères, du 13e siècle, et le donjon. La façade Est est percée de baies géminées, de bretèches et de croisées recréées à l'identique. Le château se compose de plusieurs constructions qui ne sont pas contemporaines. Les salles basses situées au nord et à l'est de la cour intérieure paraissent dater de la fin du 13e siècle. Les parties hautes situées au sud et à l'ouest de la cour semblent antérieures. Une partie des murs de la porte primitive fortifiée a été réalisée avec des blocs provenant de l'aqueduc romain de Nîmes. A proximité de la porte d'accès au sous-sol se trouvent les vestiges d'un pressoir médiéval à huile ou à vin.

History
Fortress château preserving a vaulted hall with rib vault pierced with pointed arch doors and arrow slits, from the 13th century, and the keep. The East façade is pierced with geminated openings, bretèches and windows recreated identically. The castle is composed of several constructions which are not contemporary. The lower rooms situated to the north and east of the interior courtyard appear to date from the end of the 13th century. The upper parts situated to the south and west of the courtyard seem earlier. Part of the walls of the primitive fortified gate was constructed with blocks coming from the Roman aqueduct of Nîmes. Near the access door to the basement are found the remains of a medieval oil or wine press.
