Château connu pour avoir servi de demeure au littérateur et économiste Charles Gide. En 1707, le château de Lussan passa aux descendants des ducs de Melfort, issus de la famille royale d'Ecosse, qui y demeurèrent jusqu'en 1792. Il semblerait que Fan soit devenu, au cours de ce séjour des émigrés écossais, une résidence d'été, plus ombragée que le manoir seigneurial de Lussan. L'édifice rectangulaire est flanqué de tours rondes aux angles sud, est et ouest. Il semble ne jamais y avoir eu de tour à l'angle nord. L'élévation se compose de trois étages. Le rez-de-chaussée est décoré selon l'ordre toscan ; le premier par un ordre composite, avec six colonnes cannelés et leurs chapiteaux. Le troisième étage possède une croisée de meneaux à droite.

History
Castle known to have served as the residence of the man of letters and economist Charles Gide. In 1707, the castle of Lussan passed to the descendants of the dukes of Melfort, issuing from the royal family of Scotland, who remained there until 1792. It would seem that Fan became, during the stay of these Scottish émigrés, a summer residence, more shaded than the seigniorial manor of Lussan. The rectangular building is flanked by round towers at the south, east and west corners. It would seem there was never a tower at the north corner. The elevation comprises three storeys. The ground floor is decorated according to the Tuscan order; the first by a composite order, with six fluted columns and their capitals. The third floor possesses a tracery window to the right.
