The church appears in texts from 1156 onwards. It was dependent on Notre-Dame de Nîmes. In 1350, the priory was united with the second archdeaconry of Nîmes cathedral, of which the provost was the holder. Ruined during the Wars of Religion, the Romanesque building was restored in the 17th century. The chevet and the back wall were entirely rebuilt and only the base of the side walls remained from the original construction. Bell tower at the north-west corner which necessitated moving the central entrance a little to the south of the general axis of the building. The portal is flanked by pilasters with dosserets. It is surmounted by a frieze decorated with small panels (rectangles extended by semi-circles) and lozenges on the exterior. The whole is surmounted by a large broken pediment with dentils, and by a niche itself crowned with a triangular pediment. The ornamentation of this niche consists of pilasters with panels, fluted dosserets, lateral volutes as fins, joined with rustication. The wooden doors appear to have been remade but the fixed lintel, semi-circular, is original. It features luxuriant carved decoration: a large central oval cartouche, radiating with flames, surmounted by a helm and framed by volutes and lambrequins; floral garlands, knotted with ribbons, mingle with volutes and branches of foliage.
