Historique
Primitivement appelée porte de la Boucherie, elle prit le nom de Rochecourbe par référence au rocher voisin. Reconstruite en 1760 (porte seule ; mur plus ancien), la porte était murée une partie de l'année et ne s'ouvrait qu'au moment des foires. La porte plein cintre est ornée d'une ordonnance toscane composée de deux pilastres et d'un entablement se décrochant au droit des pilastres. Un cartouche était sculpté au-dessus de l'arc. Un mur crénelé de part et d'autre de la porte, se retourne dans la ville. Les créneaux semblent contemporains de la porte, mais le gros-oeuvre du mur est plus ancien.

History
Originally called the Butchers' Gate, it took the name Rochecourbe by reference to the neighbouring rock. Rebuilt in 1760 (gate only; wall older), the gate was bricked up part of the year and only opened at the time of fairs. The round arch gate is ornamented with a Tuscan order composed of two pilasters and an entablature breaking back at the level of the pilasters. A cartouche was sculpted above the arch. A crenellated wall on either side of the gate returns into the town. The crenellations appear contemporary with the gate, but the fabric of the wall is older.
