Historique
Ancienne place du Marché, appelée ensuite place Vielle puis de la République. Elle était autrefois entourée, sur deux côtés, d'arcades. En 1775, une partie fut démolie pour dégager l'accès de la place. Elle avait en son centre un puits et une croix monumentale dont il ne reste aucune trace. Les trois arcades qui subsistent et les façades qu'elles portent, forment un ensemble pittoresque. Très surbaissées, ces arcades retombent sur de larges piles et portent trois étages d'habitation dont certaines baies ont conservés leur menuiserie à petits carreaux et des appuis en fer forgé.

History
Former Market Square, subsequently called Place Vielle then Place de la République. It was formerly surrounded, on two sides, by arcades. In 1775, part of it was demolished to clear the access to the square. It had in its centre a well and a monumental cross of which there remains no trace. The three surviving arcades and the facades they bear form a picturesque ensemble. Very depressed, these arcades rest on wide piers and bear three storeys of habitation, some of whose openings have retained their small-pane joinery and wrought-iron sills.
