Château cathare situé à 728 mètres d'altitude. Quéribus passa entre les mains de Saint-Louis qui y fit tenir, en 1255, une garnison par vingt hommes d'armes. Il était en quelque sorte un avant-poste de Peyrepertuse et défendait le col de Maury. L'édifice est construit sur un piton, au bord d'un précipice de 60 mètres côté midi. Les bâtiments s'étagent à des niveaux différents sur la crète descendante et s'adaptent au rocher. Le donjon avait deux étages.

History
Cathar castle situated at 728 metres altitude. Quéribus passed into the hands of Saint Louis who had a garrison of twenty men-at-arms stationed there in 1255. It was in a sense an outpost of Peyrepertuse and defended the col de Maury. The building is constructed on a pinnacle, at the edge of a precipice of 60 metres on the south side. The buildings are arranged at different levels on the descending ridge and adapt to the rock. The keep had two storeys.
