Historique
L'ancienne église Saint-Martin de Scey dépendait de la paroisse de Saint-Albin. Agrandie au début du 18ème siècle, son mauvais état ainsi que son exigüité ont rendu nécessaire la construction d'un nouvel édifice, menée en deux campagnes, de 1739 à 1761. Tout d'abord, sur les plans de Jean-Pierre Galezot, on éleva nef et choeur, église-halle à trois vaisseaux formée de cinq travées voûtées d'arêtes sur piliers à pilastres adossés d'ordre composite et chevet à trois pans, flanquée de chapelles latérales et sacristies entre les contreforts. Le clocher-porche fut construit entre 1755 et 1760 par l'architecte Hugues Faivre. A la suite, un riche mobilier et le décor furent commandés dont un maître-autel réalisé par le stucateur piémontais, Charles-François Marca.

History
The old church of Saint-Martin of Scey was dependent on the parish of Saint-Albin. Enlarged at the beginning of the 18th century, its poor condition as well as its lack of space made necessary the construction of a new building, carried out in two campaigns, from 1739 to 1761. First, on the plans of Jean-Pierre Galezot, the nave and choir were raised, a hall church with three aisles formed of five bays rib-vaulted on pillars with composite order pilasters and chevet with three faces, flanked by lateral chapels and sacristies between the buttresses. The porch tower was built between 1755 and 1760 by the architect Hugues Faivre. Subsequently, rich furnishings and decoration were commissioned including a high altar realised by the Piedmontese stucco-worker, Charles-François Marca.
