History
The rue du Commerce is the oldest street in the old town centre of Lons-le-Saunier, and, with its arcades, the most characteristic. The house was built at the end of the 16th or beginning of the 17th century (remains the gallery of the second courtyard), and rearranged from 1707 onwards by François Pajot, mayor of the city (interior decoration, in particular the ironwork of the staircase). It is composed of three buildings; the third on the rue Tamisier - former stables and barn - is connected to the second by a remarkable gallery with upper floor.
