Premier hôtel de ville construit en 1680. En 1733, l'établissement d'un nouvel hôtel de ville avec tribunal et prisons fut autorisé sur les ruines de l'ancien château. Les plans d'un bâtiment en U établis par l'ingénieur de l'Egouthail furent réalisés de 1735 à 1746, sous la direction de Jean Querret à partir de 1737. On installa la halle aux grains en 1753. Travaux d'agrandissement réalisés de 1845 à 1853 par les architectes Lambert, puis Paillot. Ce dernier installa aussi la bibliothèque dans l'aile ouest qui avait dû être reconstruite et devant laquelle on avait établi des halles en demi-cercle. L'édifice est de plan carré, autour d'une cour, avec deux pavillons sur les angles sud et des avant-corps latéraux nord pour les ailes est et ouest. Dans l'aile ouest, le grand escalier en pierre à trois volées conduit à l'étage où se trouvent le bureau du maire, la salle du conseil municipal et la salle de l'angle sud-ouest décorées. L'aile ouest conserve les lambris de l'ancienne salle du tribunal de commerce et les aménagements 19e siècle de la bibliothèque.

History
First town hall built in 1680. In 1733, the establishment of a new town hall with tribunal and prisons was authorized on the ruins of the old castle. The plans of a U-shaped building established by the engineer de l'Egouthail were executed from 1735 to 1746, under the direction of Jean Querret from 1737 onwards. The grain hall was installed in 1753. Enlargement work carried out from 1845 to 1853 by architects Lambert, then Paillot. The latter also installed the library in the west wing which had to be rebuilt and in front of which semi-circular market halls had been established. The building is of square plan, around a courtyard, with two pavilions on the south angles and lateral avant-corps to the north for the east and west wings. In the west wing, the large stone staircase with three flights leads to the upper floor where the mayor's office, the municipal council chamber and the decorated south-west corner room are located. The west wing retains the panelling of the former commercial court room and the 19th century fittings of the library.
