Historique
Vraisemblablement bâtie en 1744, la maison abrite dès 1767 une tannerie, tenue vers 1820 par Jean-Joseph Pasteur. Son fils Louis y naît en 1822, l'établissement est acheté en 1853 par J.S. Boichut, tanneur au 45 de la rue. Les caves contenant fosses et cuves à tan, seuls vestiges de la tannerie encore visibles, sont louées en 1901 à la tannerie Guinier, qui les utilise jusque vers 1930. La maison est achetée par souscription publique par la mairie de Dole pour abriter un musée consacré à Louis Pasteur, inauguré en 1923. La maison située au 41 de la rue Pasteur édifiée au 16e siècle et à usage de tannerie en 1887, est achetée par la Ville en 1934 pour agrandir le musée.

History
Probably built in 1744, the house housed a tannery from 1767 onwards, run around 1820 by Jean-Joseph Pasteur. His son Louis was born there in 1822; the establishment was purchased in 1853 by J.S. Boichut, tanner at number 45 on the street. The cellars containing pits and tan vats, the only remaining vestiges of the tannery still visible, were leased in 1901 to the Guinier tannery, which used them until around 1930. The house was purchased by public subscription by the municipality of Dole to house a museum dedicated to Louis Pasteur, inaugurated in 1923. The house situated at number 41 on rue Pasteur, built in the 16th century and used as a tannery in 1887, was purchased by the Town in 1934 to expand the museum.
