First reformed Carmel of Franche-Comté founded in 1614. The present chapel was completed between 1650 and 1660. The convent complex was reconstructed from 1690 following a regular plan, as was recommended in the Ceremonial published in 1659. The construction of the façade on rue Montroland in the first quarter of the 18th century completed the ensemble which underwent no further significant modification until the Revolution. In the 19th century, the building housed a blue dye factory and various tenants before receiving the Ursulines in 1892. The convent preserves the essential parts: chapel, convent buildings. In the roof space of the two corner pavilions overlooking the garden, two internal hermitages retain their painted wood décor from the late 17th century featuring scenes in medallions. The Nazareth hermitage, better preserved, develops the theme of the hidden life of Christ.
