Historique

History
The building, which may date back to the 14th-15th century, presents an L-shaped plan modified in the 16th century by the opening of a few windows. At the beginning of the 18th century, two quadrangular pavilions were built attached to the main dwelling (east elevation). In 1722, the north elevation was refashioned by opening windows onto the garden created presumably at that time, and the moats that may have existed along the north and east wings were filled in. After a fire destroyed the roofs in 1793, general restoration work was undertaken in 1905 by the architect Lafargue. The latter created a double gallery allowing connection between the main dwelling and the pavilions, as well as low galleries in right-angle returns adjoining the pavilions. The interior was completely refitted, retaining only a few old fireplaces in the drawing rooms and the kitchen. The castle is surrounded by three wings of outbuildings to the south, in a U-shape, a well and a circular-shafted dovecot.
