Vers 1828, Jean-Victor Chebrou de la Roulière, maire de Niort, se fait construire cet hôtel, sans doute par l'architecte Segretain. L'édifice néo-classique présente un plan rectangulaire, avec deux refends latéraux et deux ailes encadrant une cour fermée. La façade sur cour possède un avant-corps central sous fronton triangulaire avec pilastres d'inspiration toscane et chapiteaux égyptisants. De 1886 à 1897, l'édifice est occupé par un lycée, puis par la Chambre de Commerce de 1900 à 1913.

History
Around 1828, Jean-Victor Chebrou de la Roulière, mayor of Niort, had this hotel built for himself, no doubt by the architect Segretain. The neo-classical building presents a rectangular plan, with two lateral ashlar courses and two wings framing an enclosed courtyard. The façade on the courtyard has a central avant-corps under a triangular pediment with pilasters of Tuscan inspiration and Egyptianising capitals. From 1886 to 1897, the building was occupied by a secondary school, then by the Chamber of Commerce from 1900 to 1913.
