Historique
De l'abbaye bénédictine, prospère au Moyen Age, ne subsiste qu'une enceinte, un parc et quelques restes datant au 17e siècle et qui appartenaient au bâtiment monastique et aux dépendances qui l'entouraient. La vaste église romane est luxueusement ornée. L'abside et les chapelles du choeur sont ornées, à l'extérieur, d'arcatures en plein cintre couvertes de moulures. La façade est un immense bas-relief. Le tympan du fronton est revêtu d'un parement imbriqué, réticulé, en arête de poisson. De chaque côté de la grande fenêtre sont représentés un cheval et un lion. Statues et figures sculptées ont été détruites au cours des guerres de Religion. A la base du fronton subsiste une procession. Quant à l'ancien presbytère, il fait partie de l'ensemble des bâtiments conventuels de l'abbaye.

History
Of the Benedictine abbey, prosperous in the Middle Ages, there remain only an enclosure, a park and some remains dating from the 17th century which belonged to the monastic building and the dependencies surrounding it. The vast Romanesque church is luxuriously decorated. The apse and chapels of the choir are decorated, on the outside, with round-arch arcatures covered with mouldings. The façade is an immense bas-relief. The tympanum of the pediment is covered with imbricated, reticulated render, in a herringbone pattern. On each side of the large window are represented a horse and a lion. Statues and sculptured figures were destroyed during the Wars of Religion. At the base of the pediment remains a procession. As for the old rectory, it is part of the ensemble of the conventional buildings of the abbey.
