Historique
Construit à partir de 1227, transformé à partir de 1427, le château fut rasé en 1830 pour former la "place du château". Il se composait de six tours reliées par des courtines et d'une porte d'entrée dite "donjon de la porte d'entrée", flanquée de deux ouvrages bas : les bastilles. Les bâtiments seigneuriaux s'adossaient aux courtines nord et est. Contre la courtine est, étaient également adossés les bâtiments de la chapelle castrale. Du côté ouest avaient été construites les écuries et les dépendances. History
Built from 1227, transformed from 1427, the castle was razed in 1830 to form the 'place du château'. It consisted of six towers linked by curtain walls and an entrance gateway called the 'keep of the entrance gateway', flanked by two low structures: the bastilles. The seigneurial buildings leaned against the north and east curtain walls. Against the east curtain wall, the buildings of the castle chapel were also leaned. On the west side had been built the stables and outbuildings. The visible parts are the external facing of the curtain walls, the châtelet tower, the d'Harcourt tower, an intermediate west tower, a levelled tower at the north-west angle, the remains of a tower to the east, the Richemont bastille, including the remains of one of the entrance gateway towers, the artillery bulwark of the south front and the remains of the access bridge.
