Premier château de la fin du 15e siècle. Ensemble repris au début du 17e siècle, maintenant en ruines. A la fin du 17e siècle, le château est transmis à la famille du Vergier de la Rochejacquelin (général de l'armée catholique et royale pendant les guerres de Vendée). Incendié cinq fois entre 1793 et 1794. Actuellement en ruines, le château a été acquis par la mairie de Mauléon à son précédent propriété (société privée) le 8 septembre 2023.

History
First castle dating from the end of the 15th century. Ensemble reworked at the beginning of the 17th century, now in ruins. At the end of the 17th century, the castle was passed to the family of du Vergier de la Rochejacquelin (general of the Catholic and Royal army during the Vendée wars). Burned five times between 1793 and 1794. Currently in ruins, the castle was acquired by the town hall of Mauléon from its previous owner (private company) on 8 September 2023.
