Built in the 12th century, the castle was set on fire in 1417 during the civil war between Armagnacs and Burgundians. It was rebuilt from 1544 onwards. The building comprises three corps of buildings, flanked by round towers which are arranged around a closed courtyard. To the east and south are found the main dwelling of the 15th and 16th centuries as well as the fortified entrance pavilion of the 15th century and its postern. To the north and south are situated the two wings of outbuildings, constructed in the 17th century on the site of the former fortification walls of which only two towers remain. The whole was surrounded by moats of which only a body of water remains in front of the east esplanade. The interior retains fireplaces of the 15th and 18th centuries, as well as stuccoed decoration in the 18th-century great hall. The interior corner tower of the entrance pavilion retains a 15th-century spiral staircase. An English-style landscaped park extends to the north and east.
