Le jardin des plantes descend du jardin botanique fondé par des médecins à Rouen en 1735. Pour le réimplanter, la ville a acquis en 1832 l'ancien parc de Trianon, et y a installé le jardin en 1836. Celui-ci est un jardin mixte avec une partie paysagère dotée d'un ensemble de serres de production, d'un kiosque et de fabriques, et une partie régulière, avec grande serre, bassin, orangerie. Ce jardin est à la fois jardin de quartier et jardin botanique où se poursuivent des activités de préservation d'un patrimoine végétal, d'expérimentation et d'enseignement. History
The botanical garden descends from the botanical garden founded by physicians in Rouen in 1735. To relocate it, the city acquired in 1832 the former Trianon park, and established the garden there in 1836.
