History
The prisons of Caudebec, built in the 14th century along the ramparts of the town, comprised two buildings: the old prison proper, consisting of a rectangular building of ashlar stone, with a storey, divided into cells, with guard room and dungeons, and a building on the street called old bailiage, in south-west return of the prison, destroyed by bombardments of 1940 and 1944.
