Historique

History
A document of the chapter of Dorat, dating from 19 August 1295, makes mention of the mill with its dependencies. According to its characteristics, the bridge must have been built in the 13th or 14th century. The structure presents three arches with round arch, the central arch being higher and wider than the other two. The apparatus of the arch band is of blocked type, a technique commonly used from the 12th to the 18th century. The piers are protected by two almond-shaped cut-waters, an arrangement characteristic of the 13th and 14th centuries. On each side, a continuous line in cambered form, in dressed stone, passing above the vaults and cut-waters and going from one abutment to the other, marks the location of the former deck. The difference in masonry indicates a repair. The cut-waters are devoid of cappings. Their tops are horizontal, which allows one to advance the hypothesis that pedestrian refuges existed at an earlier period and were levelled during a repair. The deck is no longer cambered. The lateral abutments are constructed with oblique wing walls.
