Construit près de l'emplacement de l'ancien hospice Saint-Gérald, cet hôpital fut fondé en 1660 sous l'impulsion de Maleden de Savignac. Le deuxième étage est percé de trois fenêtres semblables, plus petites et de disposition identique. Cet ensemble est couronné par une corniche. La partie centrale de ce motif est surmontée, au-dessus de la corniche supérieure, de deux pilastres supportant une corniche ornée d'une guirlande. Les branches du fronton circulaire qui la dominent, enserrent un cartouche surmonté d'une croix. Deux contreforts en volutes raccordent cette partie au reste de la façade.

History
Built near the site of the former Saint-Gérald hospice, this hospital was founded in 1660 under the impetus of Maleden de Savignac. In 1775, restorations were undertaken and the present main dwelling was constructed. The principal motif accentuating the entrance of the building develops over three storeys of the facade. The ground floor opens through a large round arch portal underlined by mouldings. On either side is found a window whose projecting jambs support a cornice and fall back on a moulded sill. A cornice separates this part from the upper storey. Above the door, on the first storey, a window presents a triangular pediment carried by two voluted consoles. On either side, two windows are surmounted by a cornice whose frames rest on the storey cornice. A horizontal band limits the upper storey. The second storey is pierced by three similar windows, smaller and of identical arrangement. This ensemble is crowned by a cornice. The central part of this motif is surmounted, above the upper cornice, by two pilasters supporting a cornice ornamented with a garland. The branches of the circular pediment which dominates it enclose a cartouche surmounted by a cross. Two voluted buttresses connect this part to the rest of the facade.
